Dirty hands, cleaner rivers.
Who we are
Captain Jamie LaMent founded the Watercourse Project in the winter of 2024. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Philadelphia dedicated to the straightforward goal of cleaning up the Schuylkill River and its surrounding watersheds. Please join us in our mission to protect and restore our city's waterways.

What we do
The spring of 2025 will mark the official start of the Watercourse Project's efforts. Our volunteers will begin hands-on, water based clean up efforts on the Schuylkill River. Initially our focus will be from the Philadelphia Museum of Art to the Flat Rock Dam, gradually expanding to other areas in need.
How we do it
Simply put, we get our hands dirty. The Watercourse Project currently has the use of a 16 foot G3 skiff equipped with a jet drive outboard allowing us to access almost every part of our local rivers. Using boat hooks, nets, drags, and our hands we will remove trash, tires, bicycles, shopping carts, and any other debris currently polluting our rivers.
What we need
The Watercourse Project needs your support. The Watercourse Project is a 501(c)(3) non profit corporation. We are entirely funded by donations. Currently the Watercourse Project is manned by a staff of one, its founder Captain Jamie LaMent. The Watercourse Project directs 100% of donations to river clean up efforts and operating costs. No one, including its founder draws any type of salary or compensation for work on the Watercourse Project. We are a 100% volunteer organization. Your support helps us organize river cleanup efforts. Together, we can make a significant impact on our environment and ensure cleaner water for future generations.
